3 Tests To Make Sure You’re Wearing The Right Size Bra

Bras are essential for supporting our boobs but most of us are wearing the completely wrong size bra. If you think that you might one of those then there are three tests to find out – one for the back size, another for the front fit and finally for thee cup size.

The Back Bra Fitting Test

If you’re wearing a correct fitting bra then you will be able to tick the following boxes:

Your bra strap is firm against your body

Your bra strap is horizontal at the back, not diagonal, loose or curved.

You can slip two fingers under the band of your bra.

The Front Fitting Bra Test

If you’re wearing an underwired bra the wire should sit flit between your boobs and not end up pushed away from your body (this is one that a lot of us slip up on..)

The Cup Size Bra Fitting Test

If your bra is the currect cup size then you will be able to yes to:

Your boobs are fully enclosed in the bra cup with no wrinkling of the fabric

Your boobs don’t spill over the top or the side of the cups

Feeling despondent now you’ve discovered your bra is all wrong?

All you need to do is size yourself properly. You could get this done in store or you could do it yourself at home – it’s most fun if you get your other half to do it with you.

The Bra Measuring Guide

The Back Measurement

To get your back measurement you need to measure just below your bust. If you’re doing this yourself do it looking in a mirror so you can ensure the tape is level and reasonably tight.

Once you’ve got your measurement there’s a bit of maths to do. If the measurement (in inches) is even add 4 inches, if it was odd add 5 inches.

32 + 4 = 36 back size
29 + 5 = 34 back size

The Cup Measurement:

You need your tape measure again. This time measure around the fullest part of your boob. The difference between this measurement and the back measurement is the cup size
